Before SCC Roofing ever existed, our founders were just two people trying to make a difference in an industry that often forgets what it’s built on — integrity and service.
It Started with Service
For Ryan, that foundation began long before roofing.
He spent 13 years in the United States Army, serving our country and learning what real leadership, accountability, and teamwork look like. That experience shaped the way he approaches everything, from running a business to taking care of homeowners.
When his time in the military ended, Ryan carried that same sense of purpose into civilian life. He wanted to build something where commitment meant something and promises were kept. Roofing just happened to be the place he could do that.
Learning What Not to Do
Like many in the trades, we started out working for other companies.
Two of them, to be exact.
Both were “successful” on paper, with lots of sales, big numbers, and big talk. But behind the scenes, the pressure to “just get the contract” and move on from the customer never sat right with us. Corners were cut. Homeowners were left in the dark.
That wasn’t who we were.
So we walked away, out of the roofing industry entirely.
The Referrals That Wouldn’t Stop Coming
But something unexpected happened.
Homeowners we had helped the right way kept calling.
They referred their neighbors, their family, and their coworkers.
Not because we had a fancy brand.
Because they trusted us.
One roof turned into five.
Five turned into fifty.
And before we knew it, we were running a full-fledged company, born not out of ambition but out of integrity.
